Overnight closure of Purcell Boulevard at US 50 on May 17 and May 19

Pueblo — Beginning Tuesday, on the evening of May 17, travelers will encounter a full closure of Purcell Boulevard at the US 50 intersection while crews install concrete girders for the new bridge structure.
The closures will take place overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on both Tuesday and Thursday nights. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to access areas along Purcell Boulevard - both north and south of US 50.
Slight delays are expected for motorist using this intersection. Please plan for additional travel time.
Normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The construction schedule is subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.
- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
