Overnight closure of Purcell Boulevard at US50 rescheduled for May 25

May 23, 2022 - Southeastern Colorado - Motorists will be directed onto US 50 ramps

Pueblo —On the evening of Wednesday, May 25, travelers will encounter a full closure of Purcell Boulevard at the US 50 intersection. The closure will take place overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The closure is needed for crews to complete the installation of new concrete girders for the new bridge structure. This work was postponed from Monday night due to weather.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to access areas along Purcell Boulevard - both north and south of US 50. Slight delays are expected for motorists using this intersection. Please plan for additional travel time.

Normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The construction schedule is subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
  • Be patient!
