Traffic Impacts
August 14 through 18 motorists will encounter lane shifts, detours, and temporary closures to US 50. Impacts include:
- Sunday through Tuesday night crews will be milling and resurfacing under the railroad bridge at Mile Point 319. Motorists will encounter a signed detour off of US 50 to Paul Harvey Blvd then onto William White Blvd and Pete Jimenez Parkway.
- Monday & Tuesday micro surfacing operations will temporarily restrict access to homes and businesses from Baxter Road to 36th Lane.
- Tuesday right lane and shoulder closures at Troy Avenue for curb ramp replacement.
- Wednesday curb ramp replacement will begin on Norwood Ave. The sidewalk will be closed as well as a traffic shift during work hours.
- Thursday the eastbound ramps off US 50 to Paul Harvey Blvd will be closed for 1.5 hours each for milling operations. Baxter Road and 36th Lane will be temporarily closed at US 50 for milling during daytime hours. Detour signs will be posted when the roads are closed.
- Sunday through Thursday nights crews will be paving between 318.5 and 321.5.
- Traffic fines will be doubled in the work zone. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zones, drive with caution, allow extra space between vehicles and give themselves extra travel time.

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.
- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
