Two-week closure on CO 52 in Weld County starts Aug. 16

August 12, 2022 - Northeastern Colorado - Last month crews replaced aging culverts on CO 52 and CO 79, now they will be paving about approximately 2 miles of roadway on CO 52.
Weld County — As a part of the resurfacing and culvert replacement project on CO 52 and CO 79, the Colorado Department of Transportation will begin paving on CO 52 between County Road 77 and CR 69.
Last month crews replaced aging culverts on CO 52 and CO 79, now they will be paving about approximately two miles of roadway on CO 52.
Full Closure Detour:
Tuesday, August 16, through Monday, August 22, CO 52 will be fully closed to thru traffic between CR 77 and CR 69.
- CO 52 will turn northbound onto CO 69, to CR 16, to south on CR 77 to rejoin CO 52.
Tuesday, August 23 through Friday, September 2, the detour will move from CR 77 to CR 73.
- CO 52 will turn northbound onto CO 69, to CR 16, to south on CR 73 to rejoin CO 52
Travel Impacts
- Construction signs, cones and devices will be present 24/7
- All construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.
- Lane closures and other traffic notices are posted weekly on COtrip.org.
- Final roadway work will include striping, guardrail and shoulder work.
