CO 392 and CR 55 turn improvements in Weld County to begin August 9, 2022

Weld County – The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin construction on the CO 392 and CR 55 turn improvements project in Weld County on August 9, 2022.
This project is located on the southwest turn corner of CO 392 and CR 55 at Mile Point 123.5. Mountain Constructors has been selected for this project, and work is expected to be completed in the fall.
Crews will work on widening on the southwest turn corner of CO 392 and CR 55. Additionally they will work on the creation of a channelizing island on the southeast corner along with stop sign relocation, signing, and delineator installation. Minimal traffic impacts are expected on this project, with reduced speeds and occasional intermittent lane closures occurring during working hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
