Colorado Department of Transportation invites the public to learn about Interstate-25 Operational Improvements between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road Exits

Colorado Springs — Increased traffic from community growth and business development has created the need for the Colorado Department of Transportation to initiate design and development of I-25 auxiliary/continuous merge lanes and other operational improvements between the Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road exits in Colorado Springs. Construction anticipated to start as early as this fall
The community is invited to participate in a public information virtual open house online at codot.gov/projects/i25fillmoregog. Spanish translation materials are also available on the website.
This public information virtual open house is the public’s opportunity to learn about the improvements, benefits, and schedule. Comments and questions may be submitted by completing and submitting a comment form by April 30, also available on the project website.

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.
- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
