CO 12 and CO 194 bridge project to repair three structures

November 30, 2021 - Southeastern Colorado - Work began Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 and is scheduled to be complete in March 2022. Normal working hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
BENT, LAS ANIMAS AND OTERO COUNTIES — Crews started work this week on bridge repairs at three locations along CO 12 and CO 194 in Bent, Las Animas and Otero counties. The project will protect the integrity of bridges by installing materials to absorb the force of the flowing water, thus increasing the lifespan of the structures, and improving their resistance to flood damage and erosion.
Work began Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 and is scheduled to be complete in March 2022. Normal working hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Travel Impacts
- Single lane closures and full closures may be in place while crews conduct maintenance work.
- Full closures of the bridges will be in effect during repairs.
- Please use the signed detour to navigate around the areas when full closures are in effect.
- Delays are expected.
- Please use extreme caution around the work area when crews are present.

- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
