Joint statement regarding settlement in 2019 US-36 retaining wall collapse

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Ames / Granite Joint Venture (AGJV), HDR Engineering, Inc., and Kleinfelder, Inc. have reached a settlement regarding the July 2019 collapse of a retaining wall affecting the southbound lanes of US-36 near Church Ranch Boulevard. CDOT, AGJV, HDR, and Kleinfelder are pleased that the matter has been resolved without the need for litigation and look forward to future opportunities to work together.

Background:

CDOT will receive $14 million and will propose returning funds to the Colorado Transportation Commission's program reserve fund after the commission loaned funds to complete the emergency rebuild of US-36.
