CDOT begins ADA ramp project in Collbran, Palisade and Clifton

News Release

September 28, 2020 - Work begins Oct. 5 and continues through early November

MESA COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation and Contractor KSK, LLC, will begin work on Oct. 5 in several Mesa County communities to bring existing curb ramps into compliance with Public Rights of Way Accessibility Guidelines, or PROWAG.**

In Collbran, the project is located between Mile Point 11.09 and MP 11.39 on Colorado Highway 330, which is approximately a half a mile north of the Cedar Crest Cemetery. Work will improve curb ramps, sections of adjacent sidewalks, curbs and gutters. 

In Palisade, the project is located between MP 42.45 and MP 43.46 on US Highway 6, approximately a third of a mile southeast of the Palisade Soccer Field. Work will improve curb ramps, sections of adjacent sidewalks, curbs and gutters. 

In Clifton, work will begin on Oct. 12, with the project located between MP 10.98 and MP 12.23, and between MP 160.57 and MP 162.19. These improvements are on E ½ Road, Colorado Highway 141 and I-70B, approximately 6 miles east of Grand Junction. Work will improve curb ramps, sections of adjacent sidewalks, curbs and gutters. PROJECT SCHEDULE

Work is scheduled to begin on Oct. 5 and is expected to continue through early November. Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

 

TRAVEL IMPACTS: 

  • Travelers by car, bike, wheelchair or foot can expect various lane and sidewalk closures where work zones exist, during daylight hours, Monday through Friday. 
  • Sidewalks are likely to be closed overnight or over weekends to allow the concrete to set up.
  • Access to all businesses will be maintained, but may be temporarily altered.
