Six-month closure of Stapleton Drive North Begins Friday, Feb. 22
DENVER — As part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Central 70 Project, Stapleton Drive North (north of Interstate 70) between Dahlia and Holly streets will close for at least six months beginning Friday morning, Feb. 22. Business access will be maintained from 48th Avenue and all I-70 on- and off-ramps will remain open.
This closure is necessary for highway widening activities in preparation for the future Express Lanes that will be built in each direction of I-70 between Brighton Boulevard and Chambers Road.
Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change. Motorists are asked to please watch for signage for guidance and remember to drive slow and avoid distractions.
About the Central 70 Project
The Central 70 Project will reconstruct a 10-mile stretch of I-70, add one new Express Lane in each direction, remove the aging 55-year-old viaduct and lower the interstate between Brighton and Colorado boulevards. More information on the Project, including a list of the Project’s community commitments, are available at central70.codot.gov.
