Work on I-70 Arriba Project to begin in April

LINCOLN AND KIT CARSON COUNTY — At the beginning of April, the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor partner, Castle Rock Construction Company, will begin work on the Interstate 70 Arriba East and West Concrete Overlay Project. This project will take place on I-70 eastbound and westbound between mile points 380.0 to 395.1.



PROJECT BENEFITS

This $44.6 million project will greatly improve the safety, drivability and long-term durability of this important stretch of interstate, which sees about 11,000 vehicles per day, including about 25 percent of that is freight truck traffic. The work will include concrete paving, hot mix asphalt, bridge overlay, full depth reclamation and striping. This project is expected to end in Fall 2020.

TRAVEL IMPACTS

Motorists should expect various lane closures on I-70 in the work zone. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekend and overnight work may occur as needed. Motorists are asked to please go slow in the cone zone.
