East side of US 85 and Weld County Road 18 intersection to close starting Thursday

January 7, 2019 - Northeastern Colorado - Traffic will be detoured onto County Road 14 1/2

WELD COUNTY – On Thursday, Jan. 10, the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Jalisco International, Inc. will set up a detour at US 85 and Weld County Road 18.

Crews will close the right lane on US 85 northbound and the east side of the intersection. Motorists will detour onto County Road (CR) 14 ½, south of the project area.

This configuration will remain in place 24/7 until early February. However, access to the gas station at the intersection will remain open during construction. The southbound traffic on US 85 will have two lanes open, starting Wednesday, Jan. 9.

This detour is necessary while crews resurface the intersection. Once the operation is completed, the contractor will work on other intersection improvements, including installation a new traffic signal, scheduled for early Spring 2019.

Typical working hours are 7 a.m. to 5p.m., Monday through Friday. The expected completion is late spring 2019. However, this project is weather dependent, and this schedule may change.
