Ramp closures
Crews will close the southbound and northbound I-25 ramps to westbound C-470 on Saturday, Jan 12 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. These closures are necessary to install temporary structures that will support construction crews as work continues on the E-470 to westbound Express Lanes Bridge.
Detour: Take northbound and southbound I-25 to northbound E-470 to Peoria exit. Take Peoria to southbound E-470 and continue onto westbound C-470. No tolls will be charged during closure.

Construction activities are weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
For motorists on C-470, a courtesy patrol is provided Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to assist disabled vehicles at no cost to the driver.
More than 100,000 motorists currently use this segment of C-470 each day with volumes projected to increase 40 percent by 2035.
BACKGROUND
The $276 million C-470 Express Lanes project will increase mobility and user choice along 12.5 miles between I-25 and Wadsworth Boulevard. In the westbound direction, two additional Express Lanes will be built from I-25 to Colorado Boulevard and one additional Express Lane from Colorado Boulevard to Wadsworth. In the eastbound direction, one additional Express Lane will be constructed along the length of the project between I-25 and Wadsworth Boulevard. The project also includes full reconstruction of existing pavement, the addition of auxiliary lanes at selected locations, on- and off-ramp improvements, realignment of substandard curves, widening of existing bridges, replacing the bridges over the South Platte River, the installation of tolling equipment and new C-470 trail underpasses at Colorado and Quebec. When complete, motorists will have the option to use the Express Lanes on C-470 for a faster, more reliable commute in exchange for paying a toll, or drive the general purpose lanes for free. Completion is scheduled for 2019.
