― TRAVEL ADVISORY: Crashed Vehicle Recovery Operation to Close CO 145, between Dolores and Telluride
SOUTHWEST COLORADO ― CO 145 between Dolores and Telluride will be closed Friday morning, January 4 to allow for the recovery of a crashed vehicle. The closure and recovery operation are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and could take a couple of hours to complete.
Northbound and southbound motorists will be stopped on either side of the crash site located at mile point 28.5, approximately 18 miles north of Dolores and 43 miles south of Telluride.
“We are hoping this recovery and tow operation can be completed as quickly as possible,” said CDOT Maintenance Supervisor Kent Baxstrom. “But should the effort take a long period of time, we will attempt to allow traffic through periodically at one hour intervals.”
On Tuesday evening, January 1, a passenger vehicle went off the roadway. The crashed vehicle has remained at the site until a tow company and recovery plan could be secured.
