WINTER MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS: Avalanche control work set for this Wednesday morning

The Colorado Department of Transportation will be conducting winter maintenance operations on U.S. Highway 550 Red Mountain Pass this morning, Wednesday, February 20. Motorists will encounter a lengthy delay if traveling between Ouray and Silverton. This work is anticipated to start at 7:00 a.m. and will continue for much of the morning. Northbound and southbound traffic will be stopped near the pass summit, MP 80 and MP 82.
