December 18, 2019 - Denver Metro Area

JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation will close the loop ramp from westbound C-470 to westbound Interstate 70 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18 for necessary asphalt repairs on that ramp. Motorists can expect delays and are urged to find an alternate route during the closure.

Alternate route:

  • Drivers can continue on WB C-470 and exit for eastbound US 6. Turn right on US 6, turn right on US 40 and continue heading right along US 40/Colfax Ave. to get back onto WB I-70. This detour will take an estimated additional ten minutes.See map below for the detour route illustrated by the red arrows.
  • PLEASE NOTE:Also happening Dec.18, WB I-70 will be closed at Beaver Brook/Floyd Hill (Exit 248) at 9 a.m. for rock blasting happening east of Dumont. Anyone driving across the entire I-70 mountain corridor should plan their travels for earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon, or take an alternate route to avoid this closure. The alternate route for westbound traffic could take an additional two hours or longer. This route is C-470 east to US 285 south to CO 9 north, which takes you through Frisco back to I-70 westbound. Motorists should expect significant delays during the closure.
