Expect Major Traffic Switch Sept. 13 for new Redlands Roundabout Configuration
MESA COUNTY- Motorists can expect a major traffic switch tomorrow morning, Thursday, Sept. 13, as traffic will begin to use the permanent roundabout configuration at the intersection of CO 340 (Broadway) and Redlands Parkway.
CDOT and contractor Elam Construction will be completing Phase 3 and beginning the final phase of the new roundabout. In an effort to prepare the intersection for the final traffic switch, crews will be working expeditiously Wednesday night to remove the existing traffic control devices in the northwest quadrant.
TRAVEL IMPACTS

Motorists should allow extra commute time to allow traffic to adjust the new traffic pattern.

Roundabout will be a single lane configuration until mid-October.

There is a 9 ft. width restriction and no semis allowed 24/7 for the duration of project.

PHASE 3 COMPLETION
The contractor performed work in the northwest quadrant that consisted of: ADA ramps, permanent Portland Cement Concrete Paving (PCCP), sidewalk, curb, gutter, wing walls, head walls, site A milling, paving, HMA overlay, main line, and rip rap.
PHASE 4 OVERVIEW
The upcoming work will consist of installing curb and gutter in the pork chop and center island, fabric, median cover stone, installing permanent light poles and final striping. The project is ahead of schedule and has an anticipated completion of mid October 2018.
