Expect Work at Various Locations Along the San Luis Valley North to Poncha Springs
SOUTH CENTRAL COLORADO―CDOT will be working at three separate locations in South Central Colorado this week, with some work continuing on through October. Specifically, crews will pave on US Highways 285 and 50.

Colorado Highway 17: Through October, crews will be repairing slopes above and below the roadway at two locations. The work site locations are in mountainous areas with curves in the road, so please slow down.

mile points (MP) 0-3 ―This is at the New Mexico state line and south of Cumbres Pass, about 35 miles south of Antonito.

MP 18-20 ―This is just east of La Manga Pass, about 20 miles west of Antonito.

CO 112 ― Crews will be paving a damaged section of the roadway on Monday, Sept. 10.

MP 1.2-1.3 ― This site is just north of Del Norte.

US 285 ― Crews will be cleaning a culvert Monday Sept. 10 through Wednesday, Sept.13. Please be aware of a shoulder closure, occasional lane closures and reduced speeds in the work zone.

MP 131.5 -133.5 ― This site is about five miles north of Poncha Springs and the US 50/US 285 junction.
Travel Impacts at all Locations
- Motorists will encounter brief delays, and should be prepared for stops and one-lane alternating traffic guided by flaggers and/or a pilot vehicle.
- Speed limits will be reduced to 40 mph in the work zones. CDOT urges the traveling public to slow down and be aware of signage, workers and equipment on the roadway.
