Expect Ramp Closure, Weekend Work on Westbound Hampden from Northbound US 85

ARAPAHOE COUNTY—From 7 p.m. Friday. Sept. 21 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, crews will close the northbound US Highway 85 on-ramp to westbound Hampen Avenue as they replace concrete as part of the Santa Fe Drive (US 85) Widening and Intersection Improvements Project (Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street).

A detour will be in place rerouting northbound US 85 traffic to westbound Hampden Avenue via West Dartmouth Avenue to southbound Federal Boulevard back to Hampden Avenue.

Since July, crews have been removing and replacing concrete to widen southbound US 85 from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street to accommodate acceleration lanes and two 16-foot lanes with shoulders. Work is expected to last through fall 2018 on this project.

Travel Impacs

  • From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, expect various intermittent single-lane closures on southbound US 85 from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street.
  • There are currently no speed reductions or restrictions expected through the work zone.
  • Weekend and nighttime work may occur as needed.
  • Please go slow in the cone zone.
