Expect Hampden Avenue Off-Ramp Closure to Southbound US 85 Sept. 7-9

ARAPAHOE COUNTY—From 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 through 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, crews will close the westbound Hampden Avenue off-ramp to southbound US 85 as they replace concrete. This work is part of ongoing intersection improvements on US 85 (Santa Fe Drvie) from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street.

Detour for westbound Hampden Avenue traffic:
Take US 85 at the Federal Boulevard exit via south Federal Boulevard to east West Oxford Avenue, back to US 85.

Since July, crews have been removing and replacing concrete to widen southbound US 85 from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street to accommodate acceleration lanes and two 16-foot lanes with shoulders. Work is expected to last through fall 2018.

Travel Impacts

  • From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, expect various intermittent single-lane closures on southbound US 85 from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street.
  • There are currently no speed reductions or restrictions expected.
  • Weekend and nighttime work may occur as needed.
  • Please go slow in the cone zone.
