Expect Delays Sept. 24-28 on US Highways 50, 84 & 160 in Southwest Colorado

Sept. 21, 2018 - Motorists Urged to Watch for Road Work


SOUTHWEST & SOUTH CENTRAL COLORADO—Travelers can expect up to 20-minute delays Sept. 24 through 28 as crews complete work on US highways 50, 84 and 160.

Work Locations

  1. US 84, mile points (MP) 10-12, about 16 miles south of Pagosa Springs
    From Tuesday, Sept. 25 through Thursday, Sept. 27, crews will patch pavement to repair the damaged road.

  2. US 160, MP 258-282, from Fort Garland to the east side of La Veta Pass
    From Monday, Sept. 24 through Friday, Sept. 28, crews will continue repairing slopes and clearing mud slide debris along a 24-mile stretch of US 160.

  3. US 50, MP 181-189, near Sargents
    From Tuesday, Sept. 25 through Thursday, Sept. 27, crews will perform shoulder work along an eight-mile section of US 50.

Travel Impacts

  • Expect delays from 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Be prepared for stops and one-lane alternating traffic guided by flaggers and/or a pilot vehicle.
  • Speed limits will be reduced to 40 mph in the work zones.
  • Please slow down and be aware of signage, workers and equipment on the roadway.
