Crews to Pave US 160-US 84 Intersection Oct. 1-3

Sept. 28, 2018 - Eastbound & Auxiliary Lane Paving at US 84 Junction Monday & Tuesday, Westbound Paving Wednesday


ARCHULETA/MINERAL COUNTIES—
From Monday, Oct. 1 through Wednesday, Oct. 3, crews will pave US Highway 160 at US 84 east of Pagosa Springs, weather permitting. This is the top (and final) layer of asphalt crews will apply through this junction.

Expect lane closures and extended delays.

Crews will:

  • pave the eastbound lanes through the US 84 intersection on Monday;
  • pave the right-turn lanes onto and off of US 84 on Tuesday; and
  • pave westbound lanes through the US 84 intersection on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Oct. 4 and Friday, Oct. 5—once crews complete paving through the US 84 intersection—crews will continue paving the top mat of asphalt further east, until reaching the section that has been completed about three miles east of Pagosa Springs, approximately at mile point 147. In addition, Monday through Friday, there will be a second work zone further east for shoulder work.

  • Work hours: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Mondays through Fridays
  • Periodic lane closures and lengthy wait times of 15 to 30 minutes (longer on days where paving through the US 84 junction is underway)
