Crews to Close Westbound Hampden Avenue Off-Ramp to Soutbound US 85 Sept. 14-16

ARAPAHOE COUNTY—From 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, crews will close the westbound Hampden Avenue off-ramp to southbound US 85 as they replace concrete as part of the Santa Fe Drive (US Highway 85) Widening and Intersection Improvements Project (from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street).

A detour will be in place to reroute traffic on westbound Hampden Avenue to US 85 at the Federal Boulevard exit via south Federal Boulevard, to east West Oxford Avenue, back to US 85.

Since July, crews have been working to remove and replace concrete to widen southbound US 85 from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street, to accommodate acceleration lanes and two 16-foot lanes with shoulders. Work is expected to last through fall 2018 on this project.

Travel Impacts

  • Expect various intermittent single-lane closures on southbound US 85 from Hampden Avenue to Lipan Street during work hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Weekend and nighttime work may occur as needed.
  • There are currently no speed reductions or restrictions expected through the work zone.
  • Please go slow in the cone zone.
