Crews to Close Right Lane of Southbound I-25 Sept. 20-21 for Ilex Project Work

PUEBLO—From 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Sept. 21, crews will close the right lane of southbound I-25 between 13th Street/Exit 99B and Santa Fe Avenue (US 50)/Exit 98A as they install girders on the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad.

Starting at 8 a.m. each day, a pilot car will intermittently escort traffic in the left lane at reduced speeds to 45 mph, as needed, through the work zone. Traffic delays are expected.

Please take alternate routes and use extra caution while driving through the construction zone.

Project Info

The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading several bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is scheduled to be complete by spring 2019.
