Crews to Close CO 59 Sept. 6 & 7 at I-70 Near Siebert for Work on new Bridge
SIEBERT—Crews on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Friday, Sept. 7 will close Colorado Highway 59 and the eastbound off- and on-ramps of I-25 as they perform final tie-in work for a newly constructed bridge.
The bridge was completely replaced after it was hit by a truck many months ago. This week's work will place two layers of asphalt on CO 59 from the bridge over I-70 to the driveway of Seibert Travel Stop, and approximately 275 feet from CO 59 on the two eastbound ramps for I-70.
This closure allows crews to complete work more quickly, provide a higher-quality asphalt paving operation, and avoid unsafe conditions for motorists and workers.
Travel Impacts
The westbound exit and entry ramps to I-70 at Exit 405 will remain open on the two days while paving is proceeding. Access from northbound CO 59 north of I-70 to Seibert, US 24 and US 36 will not be affected. Access from US 36 (Cope) on CO 59 to Seibert, US 24 and I-70 will not be affected.
Eastbound I-70 travelers wanting access to northbound CO 59 must travel seven miles east to Exit 412 (Vona), north 1/3 mile to US 24, west 7 miles to Siebert on US 24, then north on CO 59. Through traffic either direction on CO 59 over I-70 must take an alternate route during this time.
