Crews to Permanently Close York Street On-Ramp to Westbound I-70 Overnight Oct. 14

DENVER—Crews overnight Sunday, Oct. 14 will permanently close the York Street on-ramp to westbound I-70 as they prepare to build a new Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Bridge and improve the final design of I-70.
Permanent Detour
Going forward, please take 46th Avenue east to Steele Street, and access westbound I-70 from the Steele Street/Vasquez Boulevard on-ramp.
Other Travel Impacts
Expect additional street impacts in the immediate area over the coming weeks:
- Lane restrictions on York Street, south of 46th Avenue, will be in place for a few weeks.
- Later in the month, 46th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the westbound lanes.
- Truck access to westbound I-70 from Steele/Vasquez will change slightly when this occurs.

Background
The Central 70 Project will reconstruct a 10-mile stretch of I-70, add one new Express Lane in each direction, remove the aging 54-year-old viaduct, and lower the interstate between Brighton and Colorado boulevards.
