CDOT Closes Mount Evans to Traffic for the Season Early Due to Snow Forecast

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY—CDOT has officially closed Mount Evans Highway (Colorado Highway 5) at Echo Lake for the season to vehicular traffic. The road was originally scheduled to close on Monday, Oct. 8, but due to weather-related safety concerns, CDOT crews pushed up the closure date.
CO 5 is scheduled to re-open for the summer season the Friday before Memorial Day, weather permitting.
