Expect I-25 Traffic Shifts, Lane Closures from Arkansas River to City Center Drive

PUEBLO—Motorists on I-25 between the Arkansas River and City Center Drive should expect changes in traffic patterns and lane closures in both directions as crews complete barrier, paving, striping, signing, and other work necessary to get traffic into its final configuration on the Ilex Project by the end of the year.

Slight traffic delays are expected, and motorists are urged to use extra caution while traveling in the affected areas. All work is weather and temperature dependent.

Project Info

The I-25 Ilex Street to City Center Drive project is the first project of the New Pueblo Freeway: the reconstruction of I-25 between City Center Drive (1st Street) and Ilex Street through downtown Pueblo. Construction includes upgrading several bridges south of downtown. The project began in July 2015, and is scheduled to be complete by spring 2019.
