Crews Begin Improvements Nov. 13 on I-70 Near Dear Trail

ARAPAHOE, ELBERT, KIT CARSON & LINCOLN COUNTIES—Starting Tuesday, Nov. 13, crews will begin sealing cracks on I-70 near Deer Trail.
Work will include placing crack sealant along the lanes and shoulders on I-70 near Dear Trail (mile point 328) west of Bethune (to mile point 427.5). Crews aim to extend the lifespan of the pavement and prevent erosion.
Work will be completed from sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset, Monday through Friday. Weekend work may occur.
CDOT anticipates this project will be completed in January 2019. Diamond Drilling and Sawing Company is the prime contractor on this $623,007 project.
Travel Impacts
- Crews start work moving eastbound.
- During working hours, expect alternating lane closures and temporary shoulder closures.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph through the project area.
- Please use caution traveling through the work zone.
- No work will be conducted from mile point 367, near Genoa, to mile point 394, in Flagler.
