Traffic Flow Improvements Coming to Pecos Street Roundabout at I-70 Interchange

May 16, 2018 -

DENVER—Beginning Monday, May 21, 2018, crews will begin work on a $484,000 project to improve traffic flow at the northern Pecos Street roundabout at the I-70 interchange in Denver. The project is expected to conclude in summer 2018.

"We're always excited to implement safety and operational improvement projects, both big and small," said Paul Jesaitis, transportation director for CDOT's Denver Metro region. "These improvements at the northern Pecos Street roundabout will help motorists better navigate this busy interchange."

This project will modify fencing at the northbound Pecos Street roundabout approach to improve sight distance and safety. Signing and striping will also be improved as part of the project.

Travel Impacts

The work on this project is limited to the northern Pecos Street roundabout and its approaches. Motorists can expect work to occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, with lane closures on the roundabout's inside lane. Only one full closure is expected at the end of the project to install signs, with a signed detour route in place.
