Lodgepole Creek Bridge replacement to begin Tuesday on CO 138

May 24, 2018 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4N

SEDGWICK COUNTY - Beginning May 29, Colorado Highway 138 over Lodgepole Creek will be closed as the Colorado Department of Transportation and Simon Contractors begin the replacement of the Lodgepole Bridge.

Bridge work will continue for approximately two months, then roadside repairs will be made in Ovid. Work will start east of Ovid at Mile Point 50.6 and will continue for four miles until MP 54.4.

Construction will take place every Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until the project is expected to conclude in October 2018. During this time, complete and one-lane closures will occur. Detours will be in place for complete lane closures.

DETOUR

A detour will be place. Expect an additional 5 to 10 minutes of travel time. Please plan your travel time accordingly.

This construction will improve the structural integrity of the entire bridge, including paving, ADA curb ramps, grading and erosion prevention. In Ovid, a new sidewalk and ADA ramps will be added on Main Street and to the intersection at CO 138. The shoulder will also be repaved east of town for approximately 4 miles.
