Full weekend closure of the southbound I-25 ramp to eastbound I-70

May 2, 2018 - Denver Metro Area/CDOT Region 1 - Bridge repairs will start Friday night

On Friday, May 11 through Sunday, May 13, the southbound I-25 ramp to eastbound I-70 will be closed from 9 p.m.Friday to 12 p.m.Sunday. This full weekend closure is required for repairs and maintenance of the bridges that connect the interstates.

“By performing a full closure we are able to reduce the long term impact to the public by completing the ramp in one weekend,” said Matt McMechen, CDOT Project Engineer. “It is much safer for the crew and motorists to have a full closure, rather than a partial while conducting these repairs.”

Detours are approximately two miles long and will add three minutes to your commute, see map and routes below.

TRAFFIC IMPACT

During the ramp closures, motorists can use either southbound I-25 to westbound I-70 or southbound I-25 to the 58th Avenue exit ramp as their detour route.

  • Southbound I-25 to westbound I-70 detour – Friday, May 11, 9 p.m. to Sunday, May 13, 12 p.m.: Take the Pecos Street exit ramp, turn left onto Pecos Street and then take a left onto the I-70 eastbound on-ramp.
  • Southbound I-25 to 58th Avenue ramp detour – Friday, May 11, 9 p .m. to Sunday, May 13, 12 p.m.: Turn left onto 58th Avenue, turn right onto Washington Street, continue south on Washington Street and take a left onto the eastbound I-70 on-ramp.

Follow detour signs accordingly and go slow for the cone zone.

Construction activities are weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
