Project Info
CDOT started this bridge and driving-surface preventative maintenance project on 10 bare concrete bridges near the I-25 Rockrimmon interchange. Work will improve safety and ride quality.
This project is part of the ongoing CDOT Asset Management/Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program that began approximately 10 years ago to extend the life of the state's bridges to 75 years. Ten bridges, with bare concrete decks, will be maintained as part of this project. Bare concrete decks are more susceptible to deterioration.
The bridge maintenance on the structures will include expansion-joint replacement, waterproofing-membrane installation, and installing asphalt overlays to protect and extend the life of the bridge decks. Driving-surface preventative maintenance and safety improvements will also be addressed.
