Work Underway on CO 69 Near Gardner

March 20, 2018 - Roadway resurfacing and repairs will create safer ride


CUSTER & HUERFANO COUNTIES—On Monday, March 19, crews started resurfacing Colorado Highway (CO) 69 near the town of Gardner. The project team also will place shouldering materials, seed and mulch, upgrade the guardrail, and update signage and delineators in the area.

Project work will occur from mile point (MP) 25.7 to MP 50.1. All work will be completed by July 2018. A&S Construction of Cañon City is the contractor on this $4.17 million project.

Travel Impacts

Travelers should expect single-lane closures and possible traffic delays during road improvements. Construction work hours will run from sunrise to sunset, Monday through Friday. No weekend work is planned for this project.

Speeds will be reduced to 40 mph. There also will be a 10-foot width restriction in place during working hours.
