I-25 Southbound Striping Work to Require Lane Restriction Overnight March 29

March 28, 2018 -

COLORADO SPRINGS—
From 9 p.m. Thursday, March 29 through 5 a.m. Friday, March 30, crews will restrict access to the right lane of southbound I-25 between Woodmen and Garden of the Gods roads while they stripe the roadway.

Construction schedules are subject to change based on weather/unforeseen circumstances. The speed will be reduced to 55 mph in construction zone during the project.

CDOT started this bridge-and-driving-surface preventative maintenance project on 10 bare concrete bridges near the I-25/Rockrimmon interchange that will improve safety and ride quality. This project is part of the ongoing CDOT Asset Management/Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program that started about 10 years ago to extend the state's bridges to 75 years of life.

Ten bridges, with bare concrete decks, will be maintained as part of this project. Bare concrete decks are more susceptible to deterioration. The bridge maintenance on the structures will include expansion joint replacement, waterproofing membrane installation, and installing asphalt overlays to protect and extend the life of the bridge decks. Driving surface preventative maintenance and safety improvements will also be addressed.
