Grand Avenue Bridge Project Closures Begin March 19 at 8th Street Intersection

GLENWOOD SPRINGS—Beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, crews will close 8th Street from Colorado Avenue to Grand Avenue/Colorado Highway 82. This work will continue, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for about two weeks. Pedestrians will be routed to the east crossing between the north and south sides of 8th Street.

Following this closure, at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 25, crews will shift work east by closing 8th Street from Cooper to CO 82 at all times for about two weeks. A detour will direct pedestrians to the west crossing between the north and south sides of 8th Street.

During these closures, crews will complete trenching and signal work, and hardscaping. Motorists should continue to 9th Street to access Colorado or Cooper avenues. Heavy machinery and construction noise will be in the area. Business and pedestrian access will remain open.
