CDOT Spring FIRE UPDATE: US 160 and CO 12 to Remain Closed, CO 69 Now Closed
SOUTHWEST and SOUTHEAST COLORADO ― Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), along with Spring Fire Incident Command, has closed CO 69 in both directions from 5 miles north of Walsenburg (mp 5) to the Huerfano/Custer County Line (mp 42) for Spring Fire operations. US 160 will remain closed from Fort Garland (mile point 258) to La Veta (mile point 294). CO 12 will also remain closed northbound and southbound CO 12 from CR 420 (mp 7) in La Veta to the summit of Cuchara Pass (mp 22.5).
CDOT is urging the public to steer clear of the closure points on US Highway (US) 160, CO 12 and CO 69. Motorists should be aware there is no stopping, parking, or standing outside of vehicles along the highway shoulder near the highway.
