Work on I-25/US 50 B (Belmont) Interchange to Resume Monday

January 18, 2018 - Southeastern Colorado / CDOT Region 2 – Pueblo, CO

Bridge rehabilitation work is scheduled to resume on I-25/ US 50 B (Belmont) Interchange on Monday, January 22nd. Crews will begin work on the shoulders of northbound and southbound I-25 at the US 50 B interchange. Construction vehicles will be entering and exiting northbound I-25 from the shoulder north of the bridge and southbound from the shoulder south of the bridge.

Bridge work will require nighttime single lane closures in late January, as well as a full closure of the eastbound US 50 off ramp in early February. The work is required to rehabilitate the US 50 B Interchange bridge over I-25 and will extend the life of the structure. Speed limits are reduced to 55 mph through the workzone.

This work is part of the $10 million, CO 96 (4th Street) improvement project which includes, intersection renovation, signal replacement, resurfacing and bridge rehabilitation.  Work began in July and will improve surface quality, enhance safety and provide improved pedestrian crossings, including upgrading ADA ramps to current standards.  The project is scheduled to be complete by June 2018.
