Motorists should be prepared for freezing drizzle during this evening's commute

February 9, 2018 - Denver Metro Colorado/CDOT Region 1

DENVER — Freezing drizzle will likely impact the Denver metro area during tonight's evening commute with up to a 0.05" glaze possible. Motorists should be prepared for slick conditions as a result. Areas in the metro area that could be affected include: Interstate 25 north, I-76, and I-70 east towards the eastern plains.

The Colorado Department of Transportation encourages motorists to drive slow for the conditions and leave plenty of space in between vehicles to allow for a safe stopping distance.

CDOT will have over 100 plows out in the metro area applying deicing products until the storm system is out of the area. Motorists are reminded to avoid passing plows on the right for their safety and for the safety of the plow operator.
