Crews to Close Peoria Street Under I-70 Overnight Dec. 17 & 18

DENVER—From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17 and Tuesday, Dec. 18, crews on the Central 70 Project will close Peoria Street beneath I-70 as they demolish portions of the I-70 bridge over Peoria Street.
Travel Impacts
- During this closure, motorists may still access on- and off-ramps to and from I-70.
- Only right turns will be permitted from the off-ramps as access to Peoria Street underneath I-70 will be restricted.
- Peoria Street will re-open during the day with lane restrictions in place.
- There will be intermittent lane closures on I-70 during this operation.
Detour

Northbound drivers on Peoria Street
- Travel west on 33rd Avenue.
- Go north on Moline Street.
- Go west on Smith Road.
- Go north on Havana Street.
- Go east on 47th Avenue until reaching Peoria Street.

Southbound drivers on Peoria Street
- Take the westbound on-ramp to I-70.
- Exit to Havana Street.
- Turn south and use the eastbound I-70 on-ramp.
- Travel east, exiting at Peoria Street.
Project Info
The Central 70 Project will reconstruct a 10-mile stretch of I-70, add one new Express Lane in each direction, remove the aging 54-year-old viaduct, and lower the interstate between Brighton and Colorado boulevards.
