CDOT Completes Rockfall Mitigation Project on US 24
EL PASO COUNTY—Crews have completed a six-month rockfall mitigation project on US 24 on budget and on schedule.
This $2.2 million project included rock-scaling, removal of 3,000 cubic yards of scaled rock, installation of 25 rock bolts, 4,300 square feet of pinned wire mesh, 36,200 square feet of wire mesh, installation of concrete barriers, ditch clean out and new guardrail. This project was necessary to stabilize the rock fall problem areas throughout the canyon.
