Short-term Traffic Stops Begin Next Week on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon

GARFIELD COUNTY—Crews will perform short-term traffic stops beginning the week of April 16 and again the week of April 23. These stops are necessary to perform the safety-critical work happening on the slopes above the interstate.
Crews will use a crane to remove part of the old and damaged rockfall barrier, and replace it with the new, higher-capacity rockfall fence.

- Westbound right-lane closure Monday - Thursday.
- Westbound short-term traffic stops (5 to 10 minutes) Monday - Tuesday.
- East and westbound longer traffic holds (30 minutes) Wednesday - Thursday.
Starting Monday, April 16, there will be a 10-foot width restriction during hours of operation for the duration of the project. The project will be in operation Monday - Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
