Road and Bridge Repairs Resume Tonight on I-70 between 32nd and 44th Avenues
JEFFERSON COUNTY—At 8 p.m. Monday, April 2, crews will start the second phase of a project to resurface I-70 from 32nd to 44th avenues. This work will include repaving and resurfacing on westbound I-70 over Clear Creek, between 32nd and 44th avenues.
This project will repair and repave deteriorated bridge decks and traffic lanes along I-70 over Ward Road. Once complete, the project will extend the lifespan of this stretch of roadway and create a smoother ride.
Travel Impacts
Motorists can expect single- and double-lane closures on westbound I-70 as well as single-lane closures on CO 58 during work hours. There will also be some full closures on CO 58, I-70 and the ramp from eastbound CO 58 to westbound I-70.
Motorists will be alerted of upcoming closures via variable message boards around the project area and are asked to go slow in the cone zone.
Typical work hours will be from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, with work scheduled to be complete in summer 2018. All work is weather dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
