Expect New, Temporary Roundabout April 19 on CO 340 and Redlands Parkway

MESA COUNTY—
Motorists can expect a major traffic switch the morning of Thursday, April 19, when drivers will begin using a temporary roundabout at Colorado Highway 340 (Broadway) and Redlands Parkway. The temporary roundabout will allow traffic to move through the intersection while the project completes remaining work.

Travelers can expect crews to begin preparatory work on Wednesday night to remove traffic signal poles, excavate and pave the roundabout. Once the roundabout is open, flaggers and traffic-control devices will guide traffic flow.

Travel Impacts

  • Starting Monday, April 16: Eight-foot width restriction; and no semis allowed 24/7 during the project
  • Night of Wednesday, April 18: Expect extended delays
  • Allow extra commute time as traffic adjusts to the new configuration.
  • Traffic will be directed with barrels, signage,and flaggers.

Project Info

CDOT and contractor Elam Construction will be completing Phase 1 and beginning Phase 2 of the project by the end of the week.

Phase 1 Completion
Crews will make storm water improvements, place detour paving, remove the raised median and traffic signals, and install the temporary roundabout.

Phase 2 Overview
Phase 2 of roundabout construction is on CO 340 from mile points 8.5 to 9.63. Crews will remove guardrail and asphalt, and excavate. The project will be in operation from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday - Friday.

The project is expected to be complete in November 2018.
