Significant nighttime I-25 closures for Express Lanes construction in Adams County Sept 18- 21

ADAMS COUNTY– The Colorado Department of Transportation and Hamon Infrastructure will perform night work on I-25 between 136th Avenue and 120th Avenue requiring a full closure of southbound I-25 the first two nights, followed by another full closure of northbound I-25 for the second two nights during the week Sept. 18 to 21. Detour routes are expected to have up to 25 minute delays.

The closures are necessary for installation of new storm sewer infrastructure across I-25 that goes under all lanes of the highway.

All work to take place from 10 p.m. to 5:30 am.

Monday, Sept. 18 and Tuesday Sept. 19 – SOUTHBOUND I-25 CLOSED AT 136TH AVENUE

• Full closure of southbound I-25 at 136th Avenue Monday and Tuesday nights, and on Tuesday night, the left two lanes of northbound I-25 will be closed at 120th Avenue with only one lane open for traffic.  

• Detour for southbound I-25 traffic: Head west on 136th Avenue to southbound Huron Street and left onto eastbound 120th Avenue to I-25 southbound.

Wednesday, Sept. 20 and Thursday, Sept. 21 – NORTHBOUND I-25 CLOSED AT 120th AVENUE

• Full closure of northbound I-25 at 120th Avenue Wednesday and Thursday nights, and on Wednesday night, the left two lanes of southbound I-25 will be closed at 136th Avenue with only one lane open for traffic.  

• Detour for northbound I-25 northbound traffic:  Take eastbound 120th Avenue to northbound Washington Street, then left onto westbound 136th Avenue to northbound I-25.

Traffic Impacts

Expect delays and follow detours as directed. Detour routes are expected to have a delay of approximately 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. The late-night weekday hours are scheduled to minimize traffic delays as much as possible.
