Expect I-70 Frontage Road Closures Sept. 25-26 in Vail

Two full, daytime closures scheduled for paving


VAIL—From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25 and Tuesday, Sept. 26, crews will close the I-70 North and South Frontage roads, respectively, as they complete final paving on the I-70 Vail Underpass project. The project team encourages travelers to use I-70 as an alternate route during these closures.

This work is weather dependent; the schedule may change due to inclement weather or cold temperatures. While there will be full closures through the project site, frontage road businesses and properties will remain accessible.

The I-70 Vail Underpass project is progressing on schedule and on budget. Next week's work signifies a push toward project completion, expected by the end of October.

Project Info

The I-70 Vail Underpass project will add an underpass near I-70 at mile point 175, connecting the North and South Frontage roads between the Vail Town Center and West Vail interchanges. The project does not construct additional I-70 exits/interchanges into Vail.
