Detour Changes in Downtown Salida

September 15, 2017 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - Businesses Proclaim: We're Open!

SALIDA – CDOT and Technology Contractors Inc. began work this week on the downtown intersection improvement project in Salida at the corner of 1st (CO 291) and F Streets. Crews worked to remove the old water main. Water was temporarily shut off and merchants/eateries should expect water service disruption to occur again periodically next week as the work continues. Further notifications will be given on the dates and times of the shutoff.

DOWNTOWN DETOUR CHANGEThere has been a slight change in the downtown detour to enhance public safety and eliminate traffic conflicts with emergency vehicles. The route has been pushed one block south to D Street. (Please see the attached map for the revised details.)

OPEN FOR BUSINESS: While progress is being made to improve safety and the overall flow and accessibility for multi-model users in downtown Salida, the public is reminded: it’s business as usual. In keeping with the typical friendly spirit of Salida, businesses are encouraging people to “come on down,” reminding locals and visitors that F & 1st is fully open to pedestrians with parking close by. (Open for Business Flyer attached)

US 50 & CR 111: There will be no work scheduled next week for the intersection of US 50 and Chaffee County Rd 111. All lanes will be open.
