Traffic Back to Normal on US 85 in Lucerne Next Week

Single-lane closures for northbound direction will be in place for striping operation

LUCERNE—
As work on the US 85 and CO 392 Lucerne project progresses, CDOT will place traffic in its final configuration on US 85 near Lucerne, starting Monday, Oct.16.

Motorists going north and south will drive on the newly paved roadway through the work zone. However, northbound traffic will be placed in a single-lane configuration for striping operation next week.

"Once the striping operation is finalized, crews will work on the last touches of the project, pushing it closer to its completion date of November 2017," said Ryan Idler, CDOT project engineer. “We've worked to keep impacts to a minimum, and we thank the public for their patience."

Work on the project is about 90 percent complete.

The US 85 and CO 392 Lucerne project is the phase 1 of the resurfacing project on US 85, encompassing a stretch of the highway from O Street in Lucerne to Oak Drive in Eaton. A different construction project (phase 2) that currently has operations from Eaton to Ault, will have sidestreet closures off US 85 from Oct. 17-22.

Traffic Impacts

Starting Monday, Oct. 16, northbound drivers should expect lane shifts and single-lane closures on US 85 from O Street in Lucerne to Oak Drive in Eaton (mile point 270.75 – 275.75). This configuration will be in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, Oct. 20.
