TRAFFIC ALERT: Guardrail Repair and Ditch Cleaning set for US 50
Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews will be performing roadside work this coming week along US Highway (US) 50 over Monarch Pass, west of Poncha Springs. The work will take place for the entire week, Monday, October 23 through Friday, October 27.
The roadside work will include the repair or the removal and replacement of damaged guardrails along the US 50 corridor. Crews will also be inspecting and cleaning ditches along the highway.
HIGHWAY TRAVEL IMPACTS: Motorists driving both eastbound and westbound on US 50 may encounter intermittent lane shifts, closures and brief traffic stops of 15-20 minutes. The work zone will be from seven miles west of Poncha Springs to Monarch Pass, mile points 193-210. The maintenance operations will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., October 23 - 27.
The traveling public is urged to obey signage and speed reductions of 40 MPH through the work zone. Motorists should also be aware of flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment on and along the roadway.
