DENVER—CDOT crews have determined that a maximum of three inches of asphalt was damaged in the left two lanes of southbound Interstate 25 between Dry Creek and Belleview.

Crews are finishing paving of the southbound lanes and will then go out and stripe. CDOT hopes to have all southbound lanes reopened in the next few hours.

Crews have begun milling the northbound lanes to evaluate the maximum depth of damage to the asphalt. At this time, there is not an estimated time of reopening of the northbound lanes until CDOT sees how far the damage goes, but it could be closed for several more hours.

CDOT crews are working on the two inside lanes, and are continuing to pump out toxic chemicals and fuel from the shoulder. If crews determine that the repairs are extensive, they will try to open one or more lanes by the morning commute to alleviate back-ups.

E-470 will continue to waive tolls throughout the night.
